Description
Damping greases are the relatively simplest and most economical solution for controlling noise, precision and motion sensitivity.
DG 74 VH uses a polyalphaolefin base oil (PAO), is silica thickened; it is a very high viscosity synthetic hydrocarbon grease intended for mechanical components requiring a very heavy level of damping. Benefits include good water resistance and is compatible with most plastics and elastomers. The DG 74 Series offer excellent lubricating capacity together with effective oxidation, corrosion and wear resistance.
Recommended service temperature range is -10 to 120°C

Note that this is a silicone free grease, silica is not the same as silicone!
There are 5 levels of damping effect/damping grease to choose from in the DG 74 series of damping grease. The different levels of damping offered by the 5 different grease products in the range is achieved by altering the viscosity level of the oil used to formulate the grease and/or varying the ratio of silica thickener to PAO base oil in the final grease formulation.
